Why Give? Donors Make a Difference!!
My husband and I are grateful to have the opportunity to donate to the Voice for Clinton County’s Children (VCCC). I had heard about Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs in other Michigan counties, so when I learned that a CASA program was coming to the county where I live ten years ago, I wanted to be a part of it. I was on the first board of directors, and I completed the first training for advocates. Since that time, I have been appointed to a variety of cases. An advocate follows the case of a child who has been abused and/or neglected by parents and as a result removed from their care. The advocate becomes a steady part of the child’s life by visiting often with the child and others involved in the case. The role of the CASA is to provide a voice on behalf of the child, in whatever way that might present itself in a particular situation. After working with CASA cases for a few years, it became apparent that a non-threatening environment where children can be interviewed when required was needed. The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) was added for this purpose, and the Voice for Clinton County’s Children was born. I believe VCCC provides a unique opportunity for dedicated volunteers to stand with children as they navigate situations that are difficult and heartbreaking, giving them a better chance in life.

It is an honor to be able to donate to The Voice for Clinton County's Children. Amazing, hard work is done to support littles and teens who have experienced terrible things, mostly done by a "trusted" person in their lives.
If they can thrive through their journey, how do we not support this work?

A number of years ago, I became aware of the important work that The Voice for Clinton County’s Children does behind the scenes, in supporting the children and families of our community. Feeling especially passionate and driven to assist in any way possible, I took my children for a tour of the agency, and was subsequently invited to serve on the board of directors. The diverse group that forms the board meets regularly to brainstorm, have important discussions, and make decisions that keep the agency at the forefront of service. This agency is one of the most essential operations in the fight against abuse and neglect.
