It is with heavy hearts that the Board of Directors shares the following announcement:
As many of you know, operational funding for non-profits has become more difficult over the past few years. The board of directors of The Voice for Clinton County’s Children has thoughtfully reviewed current budget information, funds, receivables, grants, and expenses over the past year in an effort to sustain programming while exploring creative solutions and possible mergers with other like agencies. Earlier this summer, we were able to gain approval for our CASA program to merge with CASA for Kids Ingham, Eaton, Barry County. Unfortunately, we were not able to have the same outcome for the CAC.
After careful evaluation of our operational and financial circumstances, the difficult decision has been made to close. Today, September 30, 2026, will be the last day of operation for The Voice for Clinton County’s Children. This decision was not made lightly and follows extensive efforts to explore alternative solutions. Our priority remains ensuring a smooth transition of services and minimizing the impact on the children, families, law enforcement, and community members who rely on these important resources. We are deeply grateful for the support of our staff, partners, volunteers, and community throughout the years.

Where do we go from here?
The Multidisciplinary Team of professionals across many agencies regarding child welfare will continue to advocate for the needs of children presenting in abuse and neglect investigations. Forensic Interviews and Victim advocacy will continue through partnering agencies and through MOIs with surrounding counties’ CAC programs, including: The Child Advocacy Center of Gratiot County, Voices for Children of Shiawassee County, Small Talk Child Advocacy Center, and IM Safe CAC of Montcalm and Ionia Counties.
