File a Complaint

The Voice for Clinton County’s Children strives to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, income, national origin, race, sex, or attractional orientation receives services with dignity and compassion. We extend this commitment to our clients, our MDT, our hiring practice, volunteerism, and the Board of Directors.

We strive to serve clients with dignity, fairness, respect, and professionalism. The Voice for Clinton County’s Children’s policy provides clients, and their families or legal guardians, with the opportunity to express any issues or grievances related to the quality of services provided. If you feel you have been treated unfairly, or unprofessionally, or feel that your civil rights have been breached, please complete this document to inform VCCC’s staff and leadership.

File a Complaint

Please reach out to your direct service provider with your concerns or service needs. If you are not satisfied with the solution reached after speaking with your provider about your concerns, or if you are not comfortable talking directly with your provider, you can also:

 1. Contact our Executive Director, Angelica Lanning.

 2. Complete a digital form via the File a Complaint Button. This complaint will be reviewed by our Executive Director. You may remain anonymous, or include your contact information to receive follow-up on what actions are taken to resolve the issue or complaint.

 3. Complete and submit this document and mail to 1207 Old U.S. 27, St Johns, MI 48879


No individual, organization, or agency, may discharge or retaliate in any manner against any person that has filed a complaint or grievance.

The Michigan Department of Civil Rights investigates complaints of discrimination in Michigan, and works to prevent discrimination through education and outreach. MDCR enforces the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and the Persons With Disabilities Civil Rights Act. You may also file a complaint of discrimination via their office using their online complaint form, calling 1-800-482-3604, or emailing MDCRServiceCenter@michigan.gov.
